About the Role
Perry & Associates is seeking an experienced Senior Tax / Audit Manager to lead audit and assurance engagements, manage client relationships, and oversee a team of professionals across the firm’s core service areas.
This is a senior leadership position ideal for a CPA with 7+ years of progressive public accounting experience, strong knowledge of GAAP, GASB, and governmental audits, and a proven ability to manage multiple engagements while mentoring junior staff. Key Responsibilities
Audit Engagement Leadership
- Lead and manage multiple audit, review, compilation, and AUP engagements, ensuring timeliness and quality compliance.
- Oversee all phases of engagements, including planning, risk assessment, fieldwork, and reporting.
- Review workpapers, financial statements, and audit reports for technical accuracy and completeness.
- Apply and interpret U.S. GAAP, GASB, and FASB standards in complex scenarios.
- Provide quality control oversight and ensure compliance with firm policies and regulatory frameworks.
Team Management & Development
- Supervise, mentor, and coach a team of four professionals; provide technical guidance and career development.
- Conduct performance evaluations and support professional growth through targeted training and feedback.
- Manage staff allocation and workflow across concurrent engagements.
- Foster a culture of learning, collaboration, and accountability.
Client Relations & Advisory
- Serve as the primary contact for clients, maintaining strong relationships built on trust and responsiveness.
- Provide strategic insights beyond compliance, identifying opportunities for financial and operational improvement.
- Stay current with emerging accounting standards and advise clients on regulatory updates affecting their operations.
- Represent the firm with professionalism and a proactive, solutions-driven approach.
Process Improvement & Firm Leadership
- Contribute to firm-wide initiatives focused on improving audit methodologies, internal controls, and technology adoption.
- Support business development by identifying new opportunities within existing client portfolios.
- Collaborate with partners on firm strategy, quality control initiatives, and cross-departmental projects.
Minimum Qualifications
- CPA designation in good standing (required)
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master’s preferred)
- 7+ years of progressive experience in public accounting, with 2+ years in audit management
- Strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP, GASB, and governmental auditing standards
- Proficiency in CaseWare, CCH, or similar audit software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proven leadership, project management, and analytical skills
- Ability to work on-site at the Marietta or St. Clairsville offices (hybrid may be considered for exceptional candidates)
Ideal Background
- Experience from mid-sized or regional CPA firms, or Big 4 public audit teams
- Exposure to governmental, not-for-profit, or complex private-sector clients

Compensation & Benefits
- Competitive base salary of $125,000 – $150,000, plus performance bonus
