About the Role
The Manager – Public Company will oversee assurance engagements for a diverse portfolio of publicly listed clients, ensuring high-quality audit and advisory services aligned with Canadian and U.S. auditing standards.
This is a leadership position for an experienced CPA with a strong public company background, capable of managing a team, maintaining exceptional client relationships, and ensuring technical excellence across IFRS, CAS, and PCAOB frameworks. Key Responsibilities
Audit & Assurance Management
- Lead and manage audit and assurance engagements for multiple public company clients simultaneously.
- Ensure compliance with CAS, PCAOB, IFRS, and US GAAP requirements.
- Review complex working papers and deliverables for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with firm standards.
- Coordinate with partners and senior managers on planning, budgeting, and reporting.
- Promote adherence to firm-wide Quality Control Standards and risk management practices.
Client Relationship Management
- Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, maintaining strong relationships built on reliability and technical excellence.
- Identify and evaluate new business opportunities within existing client relationships.
- Participate in firm-wide initiatives to enhance client satisfaction and service quality.
- Communicate complex technical concepts in a clear, client-friendly manner.
Leadership & Team Development
- Supervise and mentor a team of six assurance professionals, ensuring ongoing training, performance management, and development.
- Set and communicate clear performance expectations aligned with client and firm goals.
- Support a culture of continuous learning, collaboration, and accountability.
- Participate in the firm’s Team Development and Performance Management Program.
Practice Improvement & Collaboration
- Partner with cross-functional teams to coordinate large, complex audit and advisory projects.
- Contribute to firm-wide initiatives that strengthen systems, technology use, and process efficiency.
- Actively engage in internal and external professional networks to enhance the firm’s presence in the market.
Minimum Qualifications
- CPA designation in good standing (required)
- 5+ years of experience in external audit within a CPA firm serving public company clients
- Minimum 1–2 years of management experience leading audit teams in Canada
- Proficiency with Canadian Auditing Standards (CAS) and working knowledge of PCAOB, IFRS, and US GAAP
- Strong technical understanding of public company reporting and internal controls
- Must be based in Vancouver and able to work in a hybrid office model
Ideal Background
- Experience with Big 4 or mid-tier CPA firms such as EY, PwC, KPMG, Deloitte, Grant Thornton, MNP, or RSM
- Exposure to specialized assurance work for listed entities and cross-border engagements
- Proven leadership in client delivery, staff mentorship, and technical excellence

Compensation & Benefits
